The HiDREAM Pet Tent Backpack is a cat backpack that turns into a camping den. Wear it to the vet on Tuesday, unzip the rear tent at a campsite on Saturday — the space grows from 35 × 25 × 42cm to 35 × 59 × 42cm, giving a cat or small dog up to 8kg room to turn, stand and lie flat.

The Base Stays Level on Your Back

Most pet backpacks tip forward once they're on, which slides your pet against the front wall and puts their weight through their knees and joints. An L-shaped internal support holds the floor horizontal while you walk, so your cat sits or lies naturally instead of bracing. Side webbing straps with slider buckles pull the whole bag into a stable triangle, and a composite fibreboard base stops any sag underneath.

Roll-Up Mesh on Three Sides

The top, front and side all open — the top rolls back into a wide mouth that makes loading a reluctant cat far easier, the front curtain rolls up for a full view, and the side window opens just enough to reach in for a scratch or a treat without letting them out. Q3: Can I take it on a plane?

A: At 42cm tall it is above the under-seat height most airlines allow for pets in cabin, so it isn't designed for in-cabin travel. A: It suits cats and small dogs up to 8kg. With the rear tent open the floor runs 59cm deep and there is 42cm of headroom, so most adult cats can stand and turn around. Measure your pet from chest to tail base and from floor to shoulder, then allow 2–3cm.

Q5: Is the tent usable outdoors on the ground?

A: Yes. The tent section includes a ground mat that keeps the base off the dirt, so you can set it down at a campsite or in a park. Keep your pet supervised and clipped to the internal safety clip whenever the mesh is open.

Q6: How do I get a reluctant cat inside?

A: Roll the top curtain right back — the wide opening lets you lower a cat in rather than pushing them through a narrow door, which is where most struggles happen. Leaving the bag open at home with a familiar blanket inside for a few days helps too.

Q7: Can my pet open the zips from inside?
